The Kosmos Innovation Center (KIC), in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, has awarded $100,000 in pre-seed funding to 10 startups from its 2026 AgriTech Challenge Pro.
The businesses were announced as winners following the programme’s Final Pitch event held on October 29, 2026. The selected startups will go through KIC’s Incubation programme where they will receive support to strengthen their business models, improve operations and prepare for market expansion.
The chosen ones
Angban Life received the largest grant of $13,000, followed by From a Mother’s Kitchen with $12,000. PriFimps Foods secured $10,000, while the remaining six businesses, Kebab Masters, Hibitea and Beverages, GreenFalcon Innovations, Feathery Care, Ecoverse and Ecofert Ghana, each received $10,000. Hot Drops received $5,000.
The selection followed a programme designed to assess the commercial viability, market potential and investment readiness of participating businesses. Of the 15 businesses that reached the final stage, 10 were selected after pitching their solutions and undergoing field validation. This process helped the team look beyond pitch presentations and assess whether the startups had viable business models and solutions for real challenges in agriculture.
Speaking at the event, Stanley Amamu, Programmes Manager at KIC, said the initiative aims to move entrepreneurs beyond developing ideas towards building commercially viable businesses that address practical challenges across the agricultural value chain.
Through the programme, KIC and the Mastercard Foundation aim to support the next generation of innovative agribusinesses.
