Anthony Owusu-Ansah, the founder and CEO of ShaQ Express, has taken up a leadership role at the National Information Technology Agency (NITA), where he is serving as Acting Deputy Director-General.

NITA has yet to issue a formal announcement on the appointment. Owusu-Ansah’s new position became public through the agency’s National ICT Week 2026 programme, where he was introduced in the role and delivered a goodwill message during the event.

The appointment marks a shift for Owusu-Ansah from running technology businesses in Ghana’s private sector to working within a government agency responsible for advancing the country’s digital agenda.

Owusu-Ansah has spent the past several years building businesses across logistics, e-commerce and recruitment technology. He is best known for ShaQ Express, the logistics company he founded in 2020. The business provides last-mile delivery and fulfilment services for individuals and businesses. ShaQ Express has developed its own delivery network and uses electric bikes as part of its fleet. Alongside the logistics business, he also built ShaQApp as an e-commerce marketplace, a storefront for businesses.

His businesses also extend into the jobs market through Vacancies in Ghana, an HR technology and recruitment platform. The company provides job listings and recruitment services, connecting employers with job seekers/

His experience in logistics has also involved building technology and physical infrastructure at scale. ShaQ Express says its operations have reached more than 50 cities and towns, with more than 500,000 deliveries completed and over 800 vendors served.

The move comes as NITA continues to position digital infrastructure, innovation and technology adoption as key components of Ghana’s development agenda. For Ghana’s startup ecosystem, the appointment also marks a notable transition from entrepreneurship into public-sector technology leadership. Owusu-Ansah’s experience building a technology-enabled business offers NITA a private-sector perspective as the agency works to advance Ghana’s digital transformation.
